Abels, wilderness, hiking
Tasmania/lutruwita is a mountainous state. The mountains alone on this small island contain many lifetimes worth of adventures.
The mountains here, though not nearly as tall as elsewhere in the world, have a wild character all of their own and an addictive pull that keeps drawing me back every chance I get. I’m compelled to explore new areas but also revisit familiar spots in search of new perspectives or to see it in different conditions. A curiosity to see the same peaks covered in snow and the alpine tarns frozen, to see the slopes glowing with fagus in autumn or wildflowers in the summertime.
There is always something going on in the mountains worth investigating.
